Sarah Scott Falk (b.1959) is a resident of Mendocino County, CA. Known for her soft yet vibrant style, her work is characterized as modern. Her choice of subject, shape, color are designed to produce a vivid emotional response to classical subjects such as flowers or landscapes. Her love of landscape stems from her experience living in Japan with its emphasis on nature and each season. She hopes a tranquil, zen feel is communicated in her work. She is largely self taught but took art classes at Pomona College in Claremont, CA as well as at Mendocino Community College. She has attended workshops by Birgit O’Connor, Barbara Nechis, Nancy Collins, Sally Robertson and many more watercolorists to whom she is grateful for guidance. She is a member of the Mendocino County Artists Association. Her studio in Ukiah is open to visitors.
